About the Program
ABILITY Language School offers courses and individual lessons in Bulgarian language for foreigners. Our system of education is extremely adaptable, capable of meeting the personal needs of each student. For all ages, from beginners (A1) to advanced (C2), we provide adequate modern training.
Training is provided at the office of the school, which is situated in a very convenient location. For maximum comfort, the tutor can teach lessons at the student's office.

General Bulgarian Course
The course helps students obtain basic knowledge of grammar of contemporary Bulgarian and master vocabulary for public, family, professional and academic communication. Each lesson includes dialogues, adapted articles, grammar exercises and a detailed glossary. Working languages: English, French, Russian, Turkish and German.
Business Bulgarian Course
A specialized business Bulgarian course developed to satisfy the increasing interest in correct business terminology. The course is meant for people who have at least basic knowledge in common Bulgarian. It includes specific terminology, document preparation and acting out business situations.
Certificates
After finishing each level, ABILITY Language School provides each student with a certificate. When they pass the final exam, students receive a certificate for the corresponding language level.

Who are the Bulgarian courses for?
The courses are designed for foreigners living or working in Bulgaria. The school has years of experience with students from all over the world - the Netherlands, France, England, Germany, Spain and beyond. We offer general and business Bulgarian, in a group or one-to-one.
How much does a Bulgarian language course cost in Sofia?
Level A (30 teaching hours) costs €280; levels B and C (40 hours each) cost €330 each. An individual 60-minute lesson is €15. Textbooks and materials are free.
Are there any discounts?
Yes - a 20% discount when you enrol with a friend or colleague, and a 10% summer discount (May–July). Deferred payment is also possible.
How long does it take to learn Bulgarian?
Level A takes 30 teaching hours and covers the essentials for everyday communication. The full A–C cycle is about 110 teaching hours; your pace depends on how much you practise between lessons.
Is Bulgarian hard to learn?
Most students learn the Cyrillic alphabet within the first lessons, and unlike most Slavic languages Bulgarian has no noun cases, which makes the start easier. Our in-house teaching system was developed by philologists specifically for foreign learners.
Should I choose group or individual lessons?
Groups are small and ideal if you enjoy learning with others, while individual lessons offer a fully flexible schedule. For maximum convenience, the tutor can also teach at your office.
Will I receive a certificate?
After finishing each level you receive a certificate of completion, and after passing the final exam - a certificate for the corresponding language level.
What levels do you offer?
Training progresses through three levels - A, B and C - aligned with the Common European Framework. Before you start, we assess your level so you join the right group.
